Poster Restoration: Giant From the Unknown (1958)

This fabulous Sci-Fi/Horror movie poster arrived and I found it to be in fair-good condition overall, not too bad but certainly a candidate for restoration.

The first job was to give it some long term protection, so into the de-acidifying bath which neutralizes the acidic papers with magnesium oxide. This was followed by a bleach bath which does not disturb the vintage paper patina but kills the mould spoors and other pollutants that can slowly destroy vintage paper and are often that are not visible to the eye.

Now on to linen and we leave it for a few days to dry.

All is done! Happy client, happy Dario!
